Peru Junin Minca
Peru Junin Minca
from $16.00
The Central Highlands of Chanchamayo are spread across 1500 to 2400 masl and are part of the larger region of Junin. The fruit-forward coffees that grow here are filled with notes of cacao nibs, roasted nuts, and fresh fruits, with pleasant acidity, a creamy body, and good balance. In the Quechua language of the Peruvian Andes, Minca refers to a special camaraderie between farmers. During non-harvest periods, groups of neighbors travel from farm to farm, working together on what needs to be done. Then they move on to the next farm until everyone’s needs are met. This idea of caring for the whole - this social bond - is known as Minca.
